So, I have a problem at both clubs: about 600 players are about to be out of contract very very soon at end of this season. I have about 9m and 3m spare for this season so that's no good! :(

I know the correct answer is to plan ahead better - I will from now on, but for now does anyone have suggestions of what I should do so I don't lose all these star players that I've built up? I use the contract renewal extension spreadsheet to reduce each one but that will only go so far! :(

Once (or if) you're out of the playoffs, trim any non-essential players off the roster to free up spare room to retain core players, keeping in mind that you'll still need enough next season to fill out your 53 (you can always trade your draft picks for futures to avoid expensive rookie contracts). Otherwise not much to be done.

thanks but I thought the salaries have been taken for this season already so cutting a player with a 3m current season wage won't free up 3m?? or will it?

Seeing that you are late in the season, something you could try is to resign some players that have multiple years left. You may want to target any that are salary heavy. Renegotiate their contract and make it more bonus friendly. This "may" allow you to save enough $ to sign 1 or 2 of the players you want to keep. I'm not sure if you will be able to save enough, as you are nearing the end of the season and have paid most or all current year salary out already.

argh! I need to sign this one final player in MFN75, but end up being 850k over cap! I'm offering him 6yr deal and min bonus. I can't seem to find a way of offering him a very low wage this season with big bonus then making up the salary over remaining 5 years! :(

Any ideas would be grateful otherwise we might have to sell the £10million cheerleaders we have! :(
