The current protests are in response to our elected President's opinions, which is also guaranteed under the right of Freedom of Speech. If the players / league wanted show unity, they should have found a better way. Although I have NO PROBLEM with locking arms as a show of unity, it has also became tainted.

First of all, if you can't see the difference between an independent citizen expressing their opinion and the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES saying players should be fired for exercising free speech there's no real point in continuing. The NFL shares a special relationship with the US Gov't, making it especially susceptible to its whims and fancies. The leader of said government pressuring them on policy and calling their players "sons of bitches" is therefore especially egregious. Regardless, even if we pretend for a moment that it's not any different for him to say that than anyone else... how is it remotely relevant? You literally go on multiple tirades about how freedom of speech isn't freedom from outrage, and then in the same breath get all riled up that people are outraged at what the president said and demonstrating that via their own freedom of speech. Sorry, but that sword cuts both ways. I could honestly just copy and paste your own arguments in rebuttal and save myself a lot of time here.

There is no right to be protected from hurt feelings or offense. Nothing in the constitution or bill of rights guarantees that you can go through life without getting your feelings hurt or being offended and nothing requires the government to protect you from hurt feelings. The constitution DOES specifically guarantee you the right to speak freely and it is the government's obligation to protect that right.
Okay, so... what's your point exactly? Are the players linking arms to promote their bill in congress to put a gag order on the president? Seriously, this is a complete non-sequitur. When one has to pass a law saying 17% of the US population should have equal opportunity, why did there even have to be a law. One should be based on what they bring to the table instead of the color of their skin.

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize you personally hired those players, therefore making you immune from having racially motivated beliefs. This is becoming a bit of a mantra for me, but... seriously, what is your point here? You watch a league with black players in it, so therefore your outrage at players kneeling isn't racially motivated? You clearly just want to segue this into another one of your persecution complexes. And really, you're saying that there was ZERO need for laws to ensure equal opportunity? Really? In a country where there are literally people still living who weren't allowed to go to integrated public schools, pools, restaurants, drinking fountains... no, you're right, we definitely should have just maintained our perfectly functioning meritocracy instead.
