Before the draft started in CUST-33, my TE coach was yoinked by a club to go be their OC. In order to replace that position, I offered my Kickers Coach the TE position, and a FA the Kickers position. It's now been 3 sims later and neither move has been actioned? I thought coaches were quicker accepting contracts than players?

As an aside, I also offered a player a contract at the same time as the coaches and he hasn't signed yet either.

Unsure if this is a bug, or common practice. Could possibly have gone in the help section, apologies if it's in the wrong place.

Contracts (players and coaches) are not signed during the draft. They will process Late Free Agency 1 of 3.

I don't like this and can't think of any good reason we can't hire/fire coaches in this period.

probably because the whole draft only simulates 3 days while each FA stage simulates a week, it would be pretty unrealistic to believe that a team would be able to concentrate on bargaining with an FA while they're also going through all their material from their scouts, doing last minute trades and researching who to grab if the player they want at a certain pick is gone (this is about hiring FA players)

as for FA coaches its probably because in real life, it would be a pretty stupid team that gets rid of coaches who have been studying the upcoming draft players and are familiar with the team and its needs during the draft and also no team has time to conduct interviews with coaches during the draft as they are WAY too busy

The reason is because during the draft the 'sims' are running as quickly as every few minutes. It gives an advantage to someone who would be online during the draft to make offers or counter offers vs. someone who is only able to get on for a short time each day. Not to mention how dynamic the draft would make the market.

You could argue that a free agency sim could run every night of the draft, but I think that would still cause an imbalance in the market, i.e. the draft ends late at night and someone who picks early the next day would have to wait until it's over to know whether their targeted player was drafted and he should make a FA offer to a replacement or not. Further, when would the sim run? Several leagues are still drafting when the normal sim would be scheduled.

To keep things clean, during the draft days the only thing you need to think about is the draft.
