Out of Contract players

When should these disappear from my roster? MFN 13 starts the draft today and players that are free agents are still on my roster. Is this a bug?

I've asked this before and apparently that's how it's designed to be in MFN.

It my opinion, it sucks.

You can change your view to only see players currently under contract - they will leave your roster after the draft. The reason they stay is so you can know who is a free agent but still technically on your roster, if you didn't get them re-signed in the previous year.

I don't want to see them on the depth chart page.

Also, I've never heard of a Free Agent "technically" still being on a team's roster.

I thought being a Free Agent was the exact opposite. You are "technically" not on any team's roster. Just like the rest of the FAs.

Is there an option to cut them so they are removed from the roster? If not, maybe that could be an option in the future.

I can also see the benefit to seeing who you aren't resigning as a reminder for what position you need to fill.

I appreciate what JDB is doing, but I think I'd like the FA off the roster as soon as the season rolls. Any half decent owner should already be all over that.

Actually, I like it the way it is. Because its easy to find the players on my team who I let go to free agency and I can now acquire them at any price I want without having to dig for them in the Free Agency list. Several times I have wanted to resign someone, but not at the price they wanted. So I let them go to free agency and then signed them at the price I wanted.

This is fine but maybe an astric next to their name on the depth chart to show they are not under contract. I also hate having to look through my depth chart to find the players still on it even tho they are not under contract

This seems obvious to me. I don't understand why it exists.

If the player is a FA, they are NOT on your team.

Also, I can see this causing confusion for some owners, especially new ones.

I would be very upset if I was taking over a new team, seeing that they had a good roster, only to then discover that my good players "disappeared" because they were actually FAs. Of course, I could have done reasearch and found out that they had "0" years left on their contract, but as a "new" owner I most likely would not have known to do this before taking over the team.

It makes absolutely no sense to me why anyone would want to have players no longer on their team show up in their roster or depth chart.

If you want to keep those players, sign them before they become FAs.
