How will the overall rating effect a players attributes if they switch positions and their new position has a lower top rating?

for example if you have a FS that is a 85, but his attributes seem more suited to be a SS, but he tops out at 80 as a SS. Do you go ahead and make the switch, how much of an effect will this have on his attributes?

Any info is appreciated.

Great thread Seth and to all that have contributed, thanks.

The overall rating does not impact anything. It is purely cosmetic and a way for you to see at a glance what your overall evaluation of a player is.

By the way, if you are not using custom weights to evaluate your players, you should be.

I've seen them, but to be honest wasn't really sure how to use them or how they would be useful to me.

If you weight the attributes that are important to you higher, the overall rating of the player changes accordingly. For example, in a WR if you shift the weights upwards for speed, route running, and intelligence, the WRs with those high attributes will have a higher overall rating when you look at them. It will show your rating and default ratings. It's purely up to you what attributes you think are most important and then adjust the weights accordingly.

Looks like I've got some work to do....should be especially helpful for the draft.

Thank you.

Default rating aren't very good. If you go by what sethrick and other posted about most important attributes, your ratings will be vastly different, and better than th default. It's well worth the time to adjust them, then save them, so when you join other leagues, you can just load them to save time.

+1

You'll be at a severe disadvantage if you rely on the Ai for player weights and drafting/signing players.

Wow, what a difference, started adjusting some of these positions....some changed very little, others were more significant.

I feel better about my first rd. draft pick now, his rating went from 70 to 83...(even though I realize, he's still the same player), makes me feel better about the pick :)

I see in your second set of weights that acc and int show up in a big way...what prompted these changes?

Thanks
