I got an error message stating that a trade was too unbalanced to be processed, which is a bit of a bother. I think the issue is that draft picks are not properly weighted. For instance, offering a 4th and 5th this season for a first round next season is considered to actually be poor value for the guy trading his late round picks.

I have seen this problem as well. The first overall pick is worth way more as a pick then after the selection of the best player in the draft is made. The pick values need work.

You are saying the algorithm is giving 4th + 5th < 1st? That should be right, you shouldn't be able to make that trade - I'm roughly using the standard draft pick calculator (an example of one is here: http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php) and even the first 4th + 5th pick doesn't even come close to the bottom of the 1st. I'm also taking into consideration the player generation algorithm in the league, where by the 4th and 5th round you are only going to get a great player if you get lucky with a boomer. Remember that those late round picks are really a **** shoot, you'll get your share of gems but you'll get far more busts that late. The first round or two are the opposite, you'll get your share of busts but you'll get far more gems.

Yeah that sounds absurd. Quite possibly a 2nd and 3rd this season for a 1st next, but it also depends on where those 2 & 3 picks are against where the round 1 pick is as well.

I believe he was saying it the other way around, but I could be wrong. I have seen where the potential pick is worth way more than the actual player drafted, after the draft. Even in the case where it was the number one overall and the player drafted was ranked the highest.

As for the balance algorithm, I am continually tweaking with it, so please do continue to report any time you think it's wildly inaccurate. I initially read the report the same way you did, but re-read it when I couldn't figure out how that could have happened - but like I said, I do want to hear the details of any trades that aren't let through but you think should be.

I'd like to be able to see the slider when viewing completed trades involving other teams, just for informational purposes. I'm curious to see how balanced the AI thinks a trade is.

No, the other way around. A 2015 4th+5th was greater than a 2016 1st. It did allow that trade to go through, but when I was attempting to offer a 2015 3rd, 4th, and 5th for a 2016 2nd, it was rejecting it.
