Hoyer with the Browns was a Top 10 QB in the first half of the Season, with over a 100 Rating.

It was after Shanny threw a hissy fit and tossed the No Huddle out of our Offense that Hoyer sunk. I completely blame Shanny for the demise of Hoyer in Cleveland.

And everyone in New England works well with QBs while in NE, it's hard not to.

But since being in Houston, O'Brien just hasn't done anything with QB. Now, all the props in the world for building a Defense that keeps carrying that team to the Play Offs, and for awhile it was a really good Running Game as well. And there's nothing wrong with that, it's the Trent Dilfer/Ravens Model, and when the right QB is found it should be amazing there.

But how many Coaches get into confrontations with their QB? I mean, seriously. Brock was never a guy trying to rough up the Staff in Denver, Bill must have seriously got under his skin.

I seem to remember a lot of pouting and arguing when Peyton would play instead of him. I don't recall him ever being coachable or a team player and I think Elway was falling for the usually new front office pitfall of falling in love with potential rather than what the player is actually willing to become. I think he has bad work ethic and a me before team attitude (inwardly at least). He reminds me of a Jamarcus Russell work ethic (not quite as bad) with a Jay Cutler attitude. All three had similar arm talents too.

Did you see O'Brien's face (and half the War Room) when they Drafted Watson?

GM just chose Watson over his Coaching Staff. Which is insane, because really O'Brien has done a bang up job with Houston, but he's not going to keep being dealt **** QBs and stick around, especially when so many other great Players were available at 12.

Ha ha. Hoyer is a tease. He makes you think he is a good QB and then craps the bed when you need him the most. He did it to my Browns. That 2nd half collapse is on him as much as Shanny or Pettine. He couldn't hit the broad side of barn. He lit it up for the Texans then dropped that goose egg in the playoffs. He would have done the same in Chicago.

Also, if Shanny ruined him, he wouldn't have convinced him to come to SF. Guy is just enough to make you believe, then he crushes you.

Mr. Biscuit is strikingly similar to Goff last year, but I agree with the assessment that neither had a WR corps to work with. The main difference is that Goff had one viable lineman blocking for him in his rookie year (LG Roger Saffold) while Mr. Biscuit has three. Neither had any viable NFL starting receivers. Of course, Trubisky isn't asked to do as much as Goff was, so it's possibly more frustrating that he's not more efficient with his opportunities.

At the same time, it's sheltering him from the scrutiny that Goff had to face when he was asked to carry his team. As a rookie. Who was clearly defined as a developmental prospect. Without any help from the big guys up front. Or the receiving group. And an incompetent head coach. Coming out of an air raid system. And with the media all up in his face. Without a home field advantage. Or even a home stadium. Wow. Now that I'm thinking of it, should we be amazed that Goff wasn't WORSE in his rookie season?
